From a very young age I have always had an interest in art, photography and fashion, which developed, as I got older. After my studies at school (2005) I decided to go into child care and did course at Croydon College, while I was on my CACHE course, I bought myself a DSLR camera and started photographing families, inspiring actors and models, then began to notice I was developing more into the media world , started to lose interest in child care I did finished my course(2006), then moved onto taking studies in photography , and it was there that my idea to pursue a career in photography occurred.
Studying photography for 2 years I have learnt the importance of individual style noticing this through magazines, adverts and exhibitions and this led me to decide to continue my studies on a higher education course in photo media, which I am studying at the moment and will graduate in 3 years at London Met University.
I have always had a flair for photography, and continuing my studies I am learning more and more about all the different types of styles there is. I however like to photograph fashion (high & creative fashion) and am bored of the ordinary studio settings and plain backdrops, so I like to create images on different location settings which make my images more fun, creative and colourful!
There is a large range of skills required when working in the fashion industry an example is you have to network. I have done freelance work on a number of occasions including photographing fashion shows, group shoots and private events, where my networking skills came into practice. I have learnt to compromise with difficult clients and have had a few underground magazines approached me, where some of my work was published as advertisements.
From university I hope to go on to and work within the photography and creative advertising industry. I know the skills necessary are both creatively and academically challenging, but due to my ambition, social ability, talent and general love for photography, I think it is definitely something I could excel at, given the opportunity.
